This Privacy Policy explains how Dad's Auto Repair Shop, LLC ("Dad's," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit our website at dadsautorepair.shop, book a service, walk into our shop, or otherwise interact with us.

We've tried to write this in plain English. The short version: we collect the information we need to do auto repair work for you, we don't sell it, and we keep it as long as we reasonably need to. The longer version is below.

• Payment information (we don't store full credit card numbers — payment processing is handled by our payment processor)

Information collected automatically when you visit our website

• Pages you visit and how long you spend on them
• How you arrived at our site (search engine, link, direct)
• General location (city/state level, derived from IP)

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Schedule, perform, and follow up on auto repair services
• Contact you about your vehicle, your appointment, or work in progress
• Send you appointment reminders and service updates by text or email
• Process payments for services rendered
• Maintain service history records for your vehicle (helpful for warranty claims and future service)

3. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these specific situations:

• Service providers we work with: Shopmonkey (our shop management software), our payment processor, our text messaging provider, and similar vendors who need information to do their job.
• Parts suppliers and warranty claims: When applicable, we may share vehicle and service information with parts manufacturers to honor warranty claims.
• Legal requirements: If we're required by law to share information (subpoena, court order, etc.), we'll do so.
• Network referrals: If we refer you to another shop in our trusted network for work we don't perform, we may share basic vehicle and contact information with them — only with your permission.

4. Booking through Shopmonkey

Our online booking system is powered by Shopmonkey, a third-party shop management platform. When you book through our site, your information is processed by Shopmonkey on our behalf and is also subject to Shopmonkey's own privacy policy. We use Shopmonkey to manage appointments, repair orders, and customer communication. Shopmonkey is contractually required to keep your information secure and use it only for our purposes.

5. Text messages from us

If you give us your mobile number — through our booking system, our contact form, or in person — we may text you about:

• Confirming or reminding you of an appointment
• Letting you know when your car is ready
• Following up after a service
• Asking for a review (only after we've worked on your car)
• Occasional service reminders (oil change due, etc.)

You can stop receiving texts at any time by replying STOP to any message we send. Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply. We don't share your number with third parties for marketing.

6. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookies Policy for the full list of what we use and why. The short version: we use cookies for basic site functionality and to understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it. We don't use cookies to follow you around the internet.

7. How long we keep your data

We keep your information for as long as we reasonably need it for the purposes listed above. Specifically:

• Service records and vehicle history: 7 years (so we can honor warranties and help you understand your vehicle's history)
• Contact information: As long as you're an active customer, plus 2 years
• Financial records: 7 years (for tax purposes, as required under Georgia and federal law)
• Website analytics data: 26 months (Google Analytics default)

8. Your rights

Regardless of where you live, you have the right to:

• Ask what information we have about you
• Ask us to correct information that's wrong
• Ask us to delete your information (with some exceptions for service records and tax-related data we're required to keep)
• Stop receiving marketing texts and emails from us
• Ask us not to share your information with our network referral partners

9. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you live in California, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the CPRA, including:

• The right to correct inaccurate personal information
• The right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information (we don't sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising, but you can still ask)
• The right to limit the use of sensitive personal information
• The right to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights

10. Children's privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us their information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make significant changes, we'll let active customers know by text or email. Continuing to use our services after changes means you accept the updated policy.
